|| Many Chihuahuas are left homeless after the death of an owner, abused, abandoned, saved from puppy mills, or lost in the streets. Rescues take them in, providing in many cases for expensive vet bills, and try to place them in nice homes. While most make wonderful pets, some are deemed 'unadoptable' for physical or behavior deficits, such as handicaps or long-term veterinary care. Also, many are adults, not as appealing to many looking for cuter puppies. Rescues live primarily on donations, so any help is appreciated to them.
